We Have a Cookbook!

It is so exciting to be able to announce that we have published a book! I’ve always wanted to write a book, I just never thought my first foray into book writing would be a cookbook. Every week we see customers who look over our fresh mushrooms at the market and tell us they don’t know where to begin. I understand. I didn’t grow up familiar with any of the mushroom varieties I currently sell and I am learning and experimenting all the time. Some of you who have been shopping with us for awhile may remember our old recipe pamphlet. I loved having recipes to hand out, but when I tried to update it, I quickly became frustrated trying to fit recipes into such a small space and gave up. Thus, the idea for a cookbook that could be as much a guide to mushrooms as it is a collection of recipes was born.

Cooking with Mushrooms covers a few different varieties of cultivated and foraged mushrooms and discusses ways to select, prepare, cook, and clean your mushrooms. And of course, there are recipes. Many of these recipes are ones that customers have told us about and we have loved. My kids tease me about constantly talking about lion’s mane “crab” cakes, but they are so good! And we have mushroom risotto at least once a month in my house. The book is currently available on Amazon as a Kindle ebook or softcover printed version. You can also order your cookbook through our website and either have it shipped or pick it up locally. We are also offering a gift set perfect for the cook in your life that includes the cookbook and your choice of a mushroom grow kit. I really can’t wait to hear what you think!

Also, when I say this is our first book, I do mean first. We have a children’s book that will be published by the end of this year and we are collaborating on a guide to medicinal mushrooms that will be available in 2024.
